August 2026 - Harbert Management Corporation Acquires 317 MW Cogeneration Power Plant

Birmingham, AL., August 25, 2026 - Harbert Management Corporation ("HMC") today announced the acquisition of Mid-Georgia Cogen, a 317 MW dual-fuel, combined-cycle cogeneration facility located in Kathleen, Georgia.

Mid-Georgia Cogen provides reliable power generation to the region, located just south of the Warner Robins, Georgia. Originally operational in 1998, the plant has operated under a long-term power purchase agreement with Georgia Power and has secured a new 20-year power purchase agreement with Georgia Power, beginning in 2028. The acquisition expands HMC's portfolio of power generation assets and reflects the firm's continued focus on investing in critical energy infrastructure across the United States.

"Mid-Georgia Cogen represents an attractive addition to our portfolio and reflects the type of opportunity where we can bring our experience as an owner and operator of power assets to support a utility partner's long-term objectives," said Claude Estes, Head of Harbert Power. "Our focus is on working closely with our partners, executing reliably, and investing in the operational and commercial capabilities needed to help meet evolving system requirements. We believe that approach is increasingly important as utilities plan for continued load growth and the need for dependable, dispatchable generation."

Harbert Power has invested in power assets for four decades, deploying over $13 billion in capital across renewable energy, dispatchable generation, and distributed generation. The team's investment approach focuses on identifying value-add and core-plus energy infrastructure projects with foundational value, while leveraging its asset management and operational experience to enhance performance and create additional value over the course of its ownership.
