Chairman Scott, Ranking Member Gillibrand to Hold Aging Committee Hearing on Protecting Older Workers from Discrimination

WASHINGTON, D.C. - Tomorrow, Wednesday, September 3, Chairman Rick Scott and Ranking Member Kirsten Gillibrand of the U.S. Senate Special Committee on Aging will hold a hearing titled "Protecting Older Americans: Leveling the Playing Field for Older Workers." The hearing will discuss the vital contributions older Americans make to the workforce, while examining the harmful effects of age discrimination on their economic potential and overall well-being.

Expert witnesses will testify on how Congress can more effectively protect aging workers, recognize their significant value to both the economy and society, and support their continued participation in the workforce through entrepreneurship and ongoing employment opportunities.

Witnesses for the hearing will include:

  • David Horton, Fair Business Practices & Investor Advocacy Professor, University of California, Davis School of Law
  • Nancy LeaMond, Chief Advocacy and Engagement Officer, AARP
  • Gretchen Carlson, Journalist & Co-Founder, Lift Our Voices
  • Rachel Greszler, Senior Research Fellow, The Heritage Foundation
