TFD Responds to Residential Structure Fire on Cavalcade Trail During Hurricane Isaias

October 10, 2026

At approximately 9:35 p.m. on Oct. 9, the Tallahassee Fire Department (TFD) was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire on Cavalcade Trail after a tree fell onto a home during Hurricane Isaias.

Firefighters arrived to find smoke coming from the eaves and flames extending through the roof, with downed power lines near the residence. Crews deployed hose lines and made entry into the home, locating the fire along the side of the structure. Despite heavy rain and strong winds complicating suppression efforts, firefighters successfully brought the fire under control.

When TFD arrived, the homeowner was safely outside, and primary and secondary searches confirmed no occupants remained inside. No injuries were reported.

The American Red Cross was contacted to assist the displaced resident. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.

TFD was assisted on scene by City of Tallahassee Utilities, Tallahassee Police Department, American Red Cross, Bradfordville Volunteer Fire and Rescue and Leon County EMS.
