The City of Lakewood's water main replacement project continues with waterline construction on Hayter Avenue between Del Amo Boulevard and Hardwick Street on Monday, Oct. 26.

Crews will be working in this section on weekdays from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. (excluding Veterans Day on Nov. 11) through Nov. 18, 2026.

No construction work is scheduled for weekends or holidays.

Parking and service updates during construction

• No daytime parking on Hayter Avenue: Parking will be prohibited on Hayter Avenue between Del Amo Boulevard and Hardwick Street from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m., Monday through Friday, Oct. 26 through Nov. 18.
• Alternative parking available: Residents may park along the Del Amo Boulevard frontage road between Verdura Avenue and Hayter Avenue during the day. Additional temporary parking is available along Hardwick Street, as shown on the map above. Residents should observe all posted parking restrictions, including red curbs and school-related restrictions.
• Temporary overnight parking permitted: Overnight parking will also be allowed during the construction period along Del Amo Boulevard between Verdura Avenue and Hayter Avenue, and on Coke Avenue and Minturn Avenue. These designated sections are highlighted in yellow on the map above.
• Trash collection: Residents parking on surrounding streets are asked to be considerate of their neighbors on Wednesdays by leaving adequate space for trash carts to be placed at the curb and collected.
• Street sweeping suspended: Street sweeping will be suspended on Hayter, Minturn and Coke avenues, as well as the Del Amo Boulevard frontage road, during construction.

Motorists should watch for construction crews and equipment and allow extra time when traveling through the neighborhood.

Streets affected, in order of construction

Work on the waterline project will progress in phases, with the final improvements on Del Amo Boulevard between Paramount Boulevard and Silva Street scheduled for completion in spring 2027.
