When signing H.930, Governor Scott issued the following statement:
Improving the quality of education has been a priority of my administration. Since the pandemic, we've seen chronic absenteeism increase, which is problematic because we know when kids aren't in school, they aren't learning. I appreciate the collaborative work across agencies and departments on this bill, which will help us reverse the chronic absenteeism trend we're seeing in Vermont.

When signing S.227, Governor Scott issued the following statement:
S.227 sets a standard for how Vermont schools interact with federal immigration authorities and reinforces best practices many schools already have in place. Our kids should be able to go to school without being afraid of what may happen, and this bill takes steps to make sure students have equal access to educational opportunities.
