Council Members recognized for municipal training achievement

Dunwoody, GA - July 30, 2026 -Dunwoody City Council Members Catherine Lautenbacher, Rob Price, and Joe Seconder received the Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute's Certificate of Achievement during the Georgia Municipal Association's (GMA) Annual Convention in Savannah on June 29.

The Harold F. Holtz Municipal Training Institute, a cooperative effort of GMA and the University of Georgia's Carl Vinson Institute of Government, provides a nationally recognized series of training opportunities for city officials. The Certificate of Achievement requires 72 hours of training, including at least 36 hours from the required list and the Newly Elected Officials Institute.

"Serving the residents and businesses of Dunwoody means investing the time to continually learn, grow, and better understand the complex issues that affect our community," said Council Member Seconder. "This training provides practical knowledge, fresh perspectives, and valuable connections with municipal leaders across our region and Georgia."

"GMA training offers a great opportunity to build my knowledge, become a more effective Council Member, and network with representatives from other cities to learn about innovative ideas and best practices that could benefit Dunwoody," explained Council Member Price.

"I attend GMA conferences twice a year to learn more about how other cities operate and how I can operate better," added Council Member Lautenbacher. "I always take away great ideas."

Based in Atlanta, GMA is a voluntary, nonprofit organization that provides legislative advocacy, educational, employee benefit, and consulting services to all of Georgia's 537 cities. GMA provides leadership, tools, and services to help municipal governments become more innovative, effective, and responsive.
