VHHA 'Patients Come First' Podcast Series Profiles the Major Party Nominees for Virginia Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General Who Make their Pitch to Voters and Share Health Policy Views

RICHMOND, VA - As Virginians prepare to head to the polls this fall to vote for the Commonwealth's next Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General, the Virginia Hospital & Healthcare Association (VHHA) is sharing a new series of recorded podcast interviews with the major party nominees for those offices.

VHHA's Patients Come First podcast series is releasing a series of individual interviews recorded with Virginia Lieutenant Governor Winsome Earle-Sears (the Republican nominee for Governor), former Congresswoman Abigail Spanberger (the Democratic nominee for Governor), state Senator Ghazala Hashmi (the Democratic nominee for Lieutenant Governor), businessman and broadcaster John Reid (the Republican nominee for Lieutenant Governor), former state Delegate Jay Jones (the Democratic nominee for Attorney General), and Virginia Attorney General Jason Miyares (the Republican nominee for Attorney General). Podcast episodes can be accessed through the links above or the linked episode graphics below.

VHHA conducted, produced, and published this series of podcast interviews as an informational service to the public, voters, and the hospital community. These recordings do not constitute endorsements by VHHA, and the views expressed by participating candidates do not necessarily reflect those of VHHA or its members. Each of the major party nominees for the three statewide offices on the November ballot were invited to be interviewed for the podcast to provide a platform to introduce themselves to voters, share their vision for public service, and discuss their perspectives on health care policy priorities. VHHA previously conducted podcast interviews with statewide candidates for office in 2021.

"This fall, Virginians have the opportunity to cast ballots for candidates seeking to serve as Governor, Lieutenant Governor, and Attorney General in the Commonwealth over the next four years. The 2025 statewide candidates are a diverse and accomplished group of individuals who each bring a unique set of experiences and perspectives to the table," said VHHA President and CEO Sean T. Connaughton. "We are pleased to share these podcast interviews featuring the candidates who seek to lead Virginia and shape its future policy direction. It is our hope that these recordings help inform and educate members of the public as they evaluate their choices at the polls."

This year, Election Day is Nov. 4, 2025. Early in-person voting in Virginia is available from Sept. 19-Nov. 1. The deadline to apply to register to vote this year, and to request a mailed ballot, is Oct. 24. View voter and election information here.
