DNC Statement on Veterans Day Arrow

In honor of Veterans Day, DNC Chair Ken Martin and DNC Veterans and Military Families Council Co-Chairs Rachel Vindman and Basil Kimbrew released the following statement:

"Today, we give our sincere thanks and appreciation to all veterans and active-duty military who have served and are serving our country. From serving overseas to responding to disasters in communities across the United States, our servicemembers and their families have made countless sacrifices to make our country safer and more prosperous.

"President Trump and Republicans are laser-focused on policies that make life better for billionaires while making it harder and more expensive for veterans and their families. Trump and Congressional Republicans cut funding for the Department of Veterans Affairs and terminated veteran mental health research. Trump and his Administration's actions have also played politics with the brave men and women who serve in our military and deployed troops to American cities.

"It was Democratic leadership that passed and enacted the PACT Act, the largest increase in veteran benefits and services in 30 years, and it's Democrats who are fighting every day to lower costs of food and health care for the American people, especially our veterans and their families. Democrats will always stand up for and alongside those who have dedicated their lives to serving our nation."
