Seasonal flights offer Northeast Ohio's only nonstop connection to Maine's Coast
GREEN, Ohio - The Akron-Canton Airport (CAK) and Breeze Airways will celebrate the launch of seasonal, nonstop service to Portland, Maine (PWM) on July 2, giving Northeast Ohio residents a convenient and affordable way to reach one of New England's most popular summer destinations.
The inaugural flight is scheduled to depart at 8:48 p.m., with a festive gate celebration honoring the first passengers traveling on the new route.
The seasonal service will operate twice weekly on Thursdays and Sundays through October 18, 2026. Breeze is the only airline offering nonstop flights between Northeast Ohio and Portland, making it easier than ever to explore Maine's rugged coastline, historic waterfront, renowned seafood and charming coastal communities.
"We are thrilled to see Breeze Airways continue investing in our community with the addition of Portland service, and we're proud to grow alongside Breeze as they expand opportunities for Northeast Ohio," said Ren Camacho, President and CEO of Akron-Canton Airport. "Whether you're looking to relax along Maine's breathtaking coastline or experience its vibrant summer festivals and coastal charm, this route gives our passengers another convenient way to discover an incredible destination."
Breeze has grown to become CAK's largest airline, now serving 16 nonstop destinations, along with multiple BreezeThru® routes and seamless connections across its expanding network.
