April 21, 2026

CHANDLER, Ariz. - The City of Chandler is honored to recognize more than 50 local students who have committed to serve the United States Armed Forces at the annual Military Bound Graduate Ceremony. This meaningful event recognizes the dedication, courage and selfless commitment of students who have chosen to serve their country following graduation.

The Military Bound Graduate Ceremony underscores Chandler's ongoing support for service members and their families through the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission, reinforcing the community's appreciation for those who answer the call to serve. The event takes place at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 2 at Hamilton High School, 3700 S. Arizona Ave.

"Choosing to serve in the military is a remarkable act of dedication and patriotism," said Jake Dort, Vice Chair of the Military and Veterans Affairs Commission. "We are honored to celebrate the commitment these students are making to protect and serve our nation. This event reflects the strong support they have from their community."

The ceremony includes the presentation of colors from the Hamilton High School JROTC, followed by a keynote speech by Commanding Officer Amanda Burd, who commands the Navy Talent Acquisition Group Phoenix. Each graduate will then be recognized and presented with a military coin by Mayor Kevin Hartke.

Parents, family members, educators and veterans are encouraged to attend to help Chandler honor and support our nation's newest and youngest service members.
