NEWS RELEASE
For Immediate Release: Sept. 4, 2026

DALLAS - International Literacy Day is on Tuesday, Sept. 8, and Dallas ISD students continue to show that reading is on the rise. During the 2025-2026 school year, students recorded nearly 1.3 million print and digital book checkouts, an increase of more than 200,000 from the previous year. This year, Dallas ISD libraries will continue building that momentum through popular new titles, author visits, STEM programming, and expanded digital and AI literacy opportunities.
