Constitution Day Dialogue: A Scranton Conversation

As we look ahead to the 250th anniversary of the United States, The University of Scranton's Office of Community Relations, in collaboration with the Scranton Public Library and additional community partners, will host a "Constitution Day Dialogue: A Scranton Conversation" on Sept. 17 at 6 p.m. at the Albright Memorial Library, 500 Vine Street in downtown Scranton. The event is held on Constitution Day which also marks National Voter Registration Day.

The dialogue is an opportunity to listen to other's perspectives and to share your own in a structured format. Come ready to engage with your neighbors - not debate or persuade - and build better understanding.

Participants will be asked introductory questions to help them get to know one another. They will also be invited to share an experience or story that explains what America means to them and will have an opportunity to reflect on the Preamble to the Constitution and how its main themes relate to their values and perspectives.

Light refreshments will be served. Those interested should register at: https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/ConstitutionDialogue

This event is co-sponsored by The University of Scranton, Black Scranton Project, NeighborWorks NEPA, Scranton Public Library, Lackawanna Historical Society, Lackawanna County Immigrant Inclusion Committee, and Scranton Area Ministerium. University co-sponsors include the Office of Community Relations and student political clubs (College Democrats and College Republicans).
