New funding will support CaHill TECH’s continued expansion in construction industry

Buffalo, NY - CaHill TECH is proud to announce a significant New York state grant that will support the company's mission to connect construction industry employers to a new generation of workers.

The $750,000 award will drive CaHill's emergence as a technology tool at the top of the workforce funnel in the construction industry. CaHill's flagship app, aQuiRe, helps blue collar workers with daily management and training tasks. With aQuiRe, employers recruit, train and place workers while reducing job site risks.

The state grant comes from the NYS Office of Strategic Workforce Development's Pay for Performance program, designed to support industry-driven workforce development programs. The grant will fund the aQuiRe Construction Academy, which targets construction companies that are growing quickly with the nationwide influx of infrastructure projects.

"CaHill was built around the idea that the construction industry needs an integrated technology partner that understands its problems," said Carley Hill, CaHill's founder and CEO. "That vision is rapidly becoming a reality."

Hill founded the Buffalo-based startup five years ago based on her experiences in the family construction business. CaHill is backed by Techstars Iowa, Launch NY, Western New York Impact Investment Fund and private industry investors.

"As a women-led startup that is solving deep problems in the construction industry, CaHill is an amazing representation of our place-based impact investment thesis," said Tom Quinn, WNY Impact Investment Fund CEO. "CaHill will use this grant to develop a hiring pipeline with its partners and place graduates of the program directly into jobs."

"Speaking as an investor in CaHill, we're thrilled to see that the company is paving the way among our regional startups in building a scalable company with not only equity capital, but mission-aligned grant funding designed to make a positive social impact in our community," said Marnie Lavigne, president & CEO of Launch NY.

The state grant will support CaHill's fast growth as an industry-leading tool at the top of the construction industry workforce pipeline. Specifically, it will allow CaHill to develop a full workforce development program which will be free for participants entering the road construction industry.

Participants will learn the ins and outs of working in road construction as well as technology, financial and other soft skills to prepare them for direct hiring. It will also cover transportation and childcare services for all participants if needed.

CaHill has significant traction, recently inking a $50,000 deal with the New York State Department of Transportation's Office of Diversity and Opportunity, which will roll out aQuiRe to community-based organizations in Central New York. CaHill continues to onboard private sector and municipal clients and boasts a 98% retention rate for existing subscribers.
