Submit Your Nomination for 2026 Malibu Surf Legend Award June 1 - July 10

The City of Malibu is now accepting nominations for the 2026 Malibu Surf Legend Award beginning June 1, recognizing individuals or groups who have made a lasting impact on Malibu's surfing culture and community.

Established by the Malibu City Council in October 2025, upon the recommendation of the Parks and Recreation Commission, the Malibu Surf Legend Award honors those who demonstrate excellence in surfing, serve as positive representatives of the surf community, contribute meaningfully to local surf culture, and maintain a strong connection to Malibu.

The award celebrates Malibu's rich surfing heritage and the individuals whose lives and contributions have helped shape the City's globally recognized surf culture.

The inaugural Malibu Surf Legend Award was presented in 2025 to the late Randall "Crawdaddy" Miod, a beloved member of Malibu's surf community known for his passion for surfing, creativity, and deep connection to the City. He passed away in the devastating Palisades Fire.

The deadline to submit a nomination for the 2026 award is July 10. Nominations will be reviewed by the Parks and Recreation Commission, which will provide a recommendation to the City Council for final consideration.
