ALEXANDRIA, Va. -- As a result of a City of Alexandria Grand Jury indictment, Mohammad Mohammadi, 23, of Arlington, Virginia, has been charged with Involuntary Manslaughter and Reckless Driving in connection with a fatal motor vehicle crash that occurred on December 13, 2025. The charges are the result of an investigation conducted by the Alexandria Police Department's Crash Investigations Unit. Mohammadi's next court appearance is scheduled for June 18.
At approximately 8 a.m., Alexandria Police responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of King Street and South Taylor Street. Both drivers were transported to a local hospital with injuries. One of the drivers, Craig Taylor, 78, of Alexandria, later succumbed to his injuries. Mohammadi sustained serious injuries.
On May 18, 2026, a City of Alexandria Grand Jury indicted Mohammadi on one count of Involuntary Manslaughter, a felony punishable by up to 10 years in prison, and one count of Reckless Driving. With assistance from the Arlington County Police Department, Mohammadi was arrested on May 19, 2026, and transported to the Alexandria Adult Detention Center. He was subsequently released on bond.
