On November 11, in Copenhagen, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Armenia Ararat Mirzoyan had a meeting with Marie Bjerre, Minister for European Affairs of Denmark.
The interlocutors discussed the deepening of the Armenia-EU partnership, emphasizing the importance o the adoption of the New Partnership agenda, which will elevate the partnership to a qualitatively new level. The achievements recently recorded in a number of areas and the steps ahead, including progress towards visa liberalization were touched upon. Minister Mirzoyan noted that the development of the Armenia-EU partnership is fully in line with the aspirations of the citizens of Armenia, which were also reflected in the law adopted this year on the launch of the process of Armenia's accession to the European Union.
Ararat Mirzoyan and Marie Bjerre exchanged views on the challenges encountered on the path of democratic development and the possibilities for sharing best practices in overcoming them. In this context, the continued support of the EU for strengthening Armenia's resilience, including in countering hybrid threats, was underlined.
The ministers also discussed the development of bilateral sectoral cooperation between Armenia and Denmark, including in the areas of energy, transport, and trade diversification.
During the meeting the cooperation in the preparatory process of the next European Political Summit to be held in Yerevan on May 4, 2026 was also touched upon.
Minister Mirzoyan presented the new opportunities for economic cooperation in the region and beyond, emerging in the context of the peace established between Armenia and Azerbaijan following the Peace Summit of August 8. In this context, the discussion also touched upon the Government of Armenia's "Crossroads of Peace" initiative and its integral component, the "TRIPP route" project, the implementation of which is fully consistent with the EU's "Global Gateway".
