Notice Of Public Meeting Discussing Roundabout Project at Intersection of State Route 26 And State Route 49

Calaveras County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) invites the Mokelumne Hill community to an informational meeting about the State Route 26 (SR-26)/State Route 49 Intersection Control Safety Improvement Project.

On Thursday, March 26, 2026, from 6:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m., join Caltrans at the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall (8283 Main Street). Members of the Caltrans project delivery team will share final plans and answer questions.

This safety improvement project proposes to construct a roundabout at the intersection of SR-26 and SR-49 in Mokelumne Hill to reduce the number and severity of broadside collisions at the intersection.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
