The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Boise State recently announced the 2026 Osher Faculty Grant recipients:

  • Allan Albig, Department of Biological Sciences, "Investigating Non-Overlapping Function of Notch Proteins in Notchosomes"
  • Heidi Ware Carlisle, Jay Carlisle and Greg Kaltenecker, all of Department of Biological Sciences, "Incorporating Emerging Technologies Into Undergraduate Field Ornithology Training Courses at Boise State"
  • Brad Morrison, Department of Biological Sciences, "Using a Natural Compound to Treat Allergy"

The Osher Lifelong Learning Institute is a membership-based program that offers a wide variety of college-level, non-credit programs designed for intellectually curious adults age 50 and over.

Established in 2011 by the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute Advisory Council and funded entirely by Osher members, the Osher Faculty Grant has awarded over $254,849 to fund Boise State faculty research projects. The grant supports Boise State faculty research and raises awareness of the Institute within the university. Annual member contributions to the Osher Excellence Fund make these grants possible.
