The Richardson Police Department will host a drive-through Drug Take Back event Saturday, Oct. 24, from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. in the Police Headquarters parking lot, 200 N. Greenville Ave.
Residents may drop off unused or expired prescription and over-the-counter medications in consumer containers for safe disposal. Liquid medications, such as cough syrup, should be tightly sealed to prevent leakage.
Intravenous solutions, injectables, syringes and pressurized metal cans, including asthma inhalers and saline sprays, will not be accepted.
The collection is part of the DEA's National Prescription Drug Take Back Day and helps keep unwanted medications out of reach of children and pets and out of the water system.
