Ambassador of Thailand to Stockholm visited IKEA

On 2 October 2025, Ambassador Arunrung Phothong Humphreys and the Team Thailand in Stockholm, together with officials from the Royal Thai Embassy, visited IKEA Kungens Kurvan. The delegation was warmly welcomed by Mr. Linton Scarborough, Market Manager, and Ms. Sofia Sandklef, Food Manager).

During the visit, the delegation received a presentation on the history of IKEA, its organizational structure, and business operations. Founded in 1943 in Älmhult, by Mr. Ingvar Kamprad, IKEA was established under the vision "To create a better everyday life for the many people." Company representatives highlighted IKEA's growth from a small furniture shop in Sweden to a global brand with operations in more than 62 countries, including Thailand. The presentation also emphasized IKEA's distinctive approach of designing furniture that is simple, functional, affordable, and assembled by customers themselves, an identity that has become a hallmark of the brand.

In addition, Ambassador Arunrung discussed with IKEA representatives on the initiative on building cooperation between Thailand and IKEA. The concept of IKEA is in line with Embassy's economic policy on sustainability. One of IKEA's core values is the use of environmentally friendly materials, socially responsible supply chain management, and the development of innovations that meet the evolving lifestyles of people in today's world.
