Four oil derivative storage tanks put into trial operation

The Ministry of Mining and Energy announced today that four tanks owned by the Serbian Directorate for Commodity Reserves, which will be used for storing oil derivatives, have been put into trial operation.

Minister of Mining and Energy Dubravka Đedović Handanović stated that the four tanks will start to be filled with 67,000 tons of oil derivatives, or Euro diesel, and emphasised that she is proud of the team that managed to complete the construction and reconstruction of a total of six tanks.

She added that the remaining two tanks have also been completed and technical approval is expected in the coming weeks.

According to her, once all permits are issued for two more tanks, we will be able to store another 35,000 tons of gasoline, which is a total of 102,000 tons, which is additional security for citizens, and we need that security at the moment.

Our long-term goal is to strengthen energy security and increase reserves of energy products, which we will continue to do in the future, Đedović Handanović emphasised.

The minister recalled that the importance of storage capacities is best seen during the crisis with NIS, considering that not a drop of crude oil has entered our country for almost three months.
