American Society of Anesthesiologists Announces 12-Year Collaboration with Medtronic as a Corporate Supporter

CHICAGO - The American Society of Anesthesiologists (ASA) today announced Medtronic, a global leader in healthcare technology, has reaffirmed its commitment to ASA's Corporate Supporter Program, continuing a long-standing collaboration to provide quality education and support initiatives that advance anesthesia care and patient safety.

"Medtronic has been a vital ally in advancing the Society's mission and supporting our more than 60,000 member anesthesiologists," said ASA President Patrick Giam, M.D., FASA. "We are proud to recognize our 12th consecutive year of collaboration as we continue to expand educational opportunities and drive innovations that enhance patient care, from advanced monitoring technologies to solutions that help chronic pain patients reduce opioid use."

As a Corporate Supporter, Medtronic continues to establish a strong, mutually beneficial relationship with the anesthesiology community, strengthen collaboration between anesthesiologists and industry, and add to the value the Society provides to members and their patients, while providing invaluable year-round support of ASA programs and priorities related to perioperative care.

Corporate Supporters have unique opportunities to inform strategic dialogue with leaders in anesthesiology from around the world and during major ASA events including the ANESTHESIOLOGY® annual meeting and ADVANCE: The Anesthesiology Business Event.

"We're proud to continue our long-standing collaboration with the American Society of Anesthesiologists and to support ASA's efforts to advance education, innovation and patient safety across perioperative care," said Kate Benedict, president of the Acute Care & Monitoring operating unit within the Medical Surgical Portfolio at Medtronic. "Together, we're focused on helping clinicians make confident, timely decisions-through technologies that deliver actionable insights and support better outcomes for patients."

Established in 2010, ASA's Corporate Supporter Program is limited to 10 organizations. The program recognizes leading companies that demonstrate a sustained commitment to advancing the specialty of anesthesiology through support of education, innovation, and initiatives that benefit anesthesiologists and the Anesthesia Care Team.
