UW and Wyoming APEX Accelerator to Host Webinar on How Veterans Can Do Government Business Nov. 12

Small-business owners, entrepreneurs and startup leaders who are veterans can learn how to do business with the government Wednesday, Nov. 12.

Sara Mikesell Growney and Drew James will lead a Wyoming APEX Accelerator workshop titled "Veterans: Learning to Do Business in the Government Marketplace" from noon-1 p.m. To register, go here. The Wyoming Small Business Administration (SBA) co-hosts the webinar.

Wyoming APEX Accelerator, part of the Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network housed at the University of Wyoming, is the state's expert in government contracting assistance.

The webinar will cover how veteran-owned businesses can become certified to do business with the government; how certifications can better leverage small businesses for successful government contracting; and more about additional resources for veteran entrepreneurs.

Mikesell Growney is the program manager for Wyoming APEX Accelerator. A 22-year Wyoming resident and former business owner, Mikesell Growney is passionate about helping local businesses thrive. She leverages her extensive experience in marketing and public policy to help companies access and secure government contracts.

James is a veterans business development specialist for the Wyoming district office of the U.S. SBA. He helps clients meet their insurance and financial goals with tailored solutions. James specializes in developing strategies for funding, retirement, long-term care and lifetime income.
