Nighttime ramp closures on U.S. 101 at Hillsdale Blvd in San Mateo

Overnight Closures June 21, 23, 24, 26

San Mateo County ― Caltrans will install traffic signals and lighting on the ramps located on U.S. 101 at East Hillsdale Blvd. in San Mateo starting on Sunday, June 21. To facilitate this work, crews will close ramps nightly.

Overnight Closure Schedule

  • Sunday, June 21
  • Tuesday, June 23
  • Wednesday June 24
  • Friday, June 26

Detour information from northbound U.S. 101 to eastbound Hillsdale Blvd.
10 p.m. - 7 a.m.

  • Drivers on northbound U.S. 101 will take the connector off-ramp to eastbound State Route 92, take the Edgewater Blvd./Mariners Island Blvd. exit, and turn onto E. Hillsdale Blvd.

Detour information from East Hillsdale Blvd. to eastbound State Route 92
8 p.m. - 6 a.m.

  • From eastbound E. Hillsdale Blvd, turn left on Edgewater Blvd, and take the on-ramp to east State Route 92.

Detour information from East Hillsdale Blvd. to northbound U.S. 101 and westbound State Route 92
8 p.m. - 6 a.m.

  • From eastbound E. Hillsdale Blvd, turn left on Edgewater Blvd, continue on Mariners Island Blvd., turn right on Fashion Island Blvd., and take the on-ramp to westbound State Route 92 or the on-ramp to northbound U.S. 101.

Drivers should follow posted detour signs and allow extra time.

This work is part of the $45M U.S. 101- SR-92 Short-term Improvements Project that is co-sponsored by the San Mateo County Transportation Authority and City/County Association of Governments. The project will bring operational improvements, enhancement to local access, and promotion of economic vitality to the region.
