Ghirardelli Chocolate Company Issues Recall of Powdered Beverage Mixes
San Leandro, CA
The U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has announced that Ghirardelli Chocolate Company is voluntarily recalling select powdered beverage mixes due to possible contamination with Salmonella.
The affected products were made using a recalled milk powder ingredient supplied by California Dairies, Inc.. They were primarily distributed to food service and institutional customers, with limited consumer availability.
No illnesses have been reported to date.
Consumer Guidance
Consumers and businesses should not use the recalled products and should discard them or contact Ghirardelli for a refund. Anyone experiencing symptoms such as fever, diarrhea, or nausea after consumption should seek medical attention.
Ghirardelli is working with the FDA to remove affected products from the market.
