RANCHO REVIEW BOARD VACANCIES

BURBANK, CA (09/24/2026) - The Community Development Department is accepting applications for the Rancho Review Board beginning September 25, 2026. The deadline to submit an application is October 16 by 5:00 p.m. Applications may be submitted online by visiting https://www.burbankca.gov/web/community-development/rancho-review-board. Completed applications may be submitted online or mailed/dropped off at the City Clerk's Office located in City Hall at 275 East Olive Avenue, First Floor (no exceptions for late submissions)

Authority/Role of the Rancho Review Board

Pursuant to Burbank Municipal Code (BMC) Section 10-1-2453, all Development Review (DR) projects within the Rancho Master Plan Area are subject to review by a Rancho Review Board (RRB) to determine compliance with Article 24, "Rancho Master Plan Zones." The RRB is an ad-hoc advisory body appointed by staff; neither the RRB nor its members have decision-making authority. The RRB's role, as an advisory body, is to make recommendations on how the project may be revised to better comply with Article 24. The RRB's input will be documented and forwarded to the Community Development Director and may be used to inform the final decision on the project. Members serve without compensation (BMC § 2-1-405) and may not serve on more than one City Board or Commission at the same time (BMC § 2-1-406).

Member Composition/Term of Office

The RRB will consist of five members. Eligible members must be at least 21 years of age and live, work, or own property within the boundaries of the Rancho Master Plan Area. Each member term shall be two years. Two calendar years from the conclusion of the selection process, the RRB will automatically be disbanded until the need for the RRB is triggered by a new project submittal, at which time another RRB selection process will be held. Four additional names will be selected at random for a Reserve RRB list. The absence of a member of the RRB from a scheduled meeting shall constitute that member's resignation, and members may be removed by the Community Development Director for good cause. If any RRB member is removed or no longer able to serve, Reserve RRB members will be called upon to fill the vacant spot in the order their names were drawn.

Selection Process/Eligibility

Applicants will be required to complete a Rancho Review Board Application form and demonstrate their eligibility by providing proof of residence, employment, property ownership, or business ownership in the Rancho. Five qualified members will be selected randomly. The selection process will be documented, and a finalized roster will be published on the Planning Division website. The selections will be made by the Community Development Director by October 30, 2026.
