Senator Justice Attends the 2026 Mining Symposium and Coal Show

CHARLESTON, WV - Today, Senator Jim Justice released a statement following his visit to the West Virginia Coal Association Annual Mining Symposium and Coal Show:

"West Virginia is a coal state through and through, and I could not be more proud of our hardworking energy producers. Attending the West Virginia Mining Symposium today gave me the opportunity to hear directly from the men and women who keep this industry running, and to better understand just how I can keep fighting for West Virginia coal jobs and our miners in Washington. These folks work their tails off and power our country every single day and I'll always have their backs," said Senator Jim Justice.

BACKGROUND:

• Today, Senator Justice attended the West Virginia Coal Association Annual Mining Symposium and Coal Show.
• Senator Justice has always been a staunch supporter of the coal industry in West Virginia, from his time as governor, and now as Senator and a member of the Senate Energy Committee.
• During his time in Washington, Senator Justice has introduced legislation such as the Energy Choice Act in order to protect the use of energy sources without undue regulation by state or local governments.
  • Additionally Senator Justice introduced and passed the National Miners Day Resolution to show appreciation and honor the accomplishments and sacrifices of the miners in our nation and local communities.
• The West Virginia Coal Association Annual Mining Symposium and Coal Show is March 31 - April 1, 2026, at the Charleston Coliseum and Convention Center.
