Milling and Resurfacing on Route 8 Southbound in Shelton

The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing that a milling and resurfacing project will be performed on Route 8 southbound in Shelton. This project is scheduled to occur on Sunday, April 26 and be completed on June 12, 2026. The project DOT1730557CN consists of milling and resurfacing a 3.07-mile segment of Route 8 southbound in Shelton from the 0.01 miles south of Armstrong Road Underpass to 0.02 miles south of Exit 11 off-ramp. This project is scheduled to begin milling by Burns

Construction on Sunday, April 26 to Monday, May 11, 2026. The resurfacing segment of this project by O&G Construction is anticipated to begin on Monday, May 11, to Friday June 12, 2026.

This project is included in CTDOT's 2026 Vendor Resurfacing Program.

LANE CLOSURE/DETOUR INFO Motorists can expect lane closures on Route 8 form Exit 12 southbound to 0.5 miles south of Armstrong Road in Shelton. Traffic control personnel and signing patterns will guide motorists through the work zone. The work schedule for this project is from 7:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m., Sunday to Friday.

Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
