The Church of God in Christ (COGIC), Incorporated will bring its 118th Holy Convocation to St. Louis, November 3rd through November 10th, welcoming thousands of attendees from across the country and world to The Dome at America's Center. During this national gathering, COGIC will host a Global Health & Wellness Fair with Affinia Healthcare serving as a healthcare provider and a Speaker Panel Series featuring Affinia Healthcare President & CEO Dr. Kendra Holmes.
"We are delighted to welcome Affinia Healthcare as a valued participating partner in this year's Global Health & Wellness Fair," said COGIC Global Communications and PR Director Robert Coleman, Jr. "Affinia Healthcare's commitment to providing accessible, quality healthcare aligns with our mission of strengthening families and building healthier communities."
Affinia Healthcare professionals will be on site from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m., November 4 through November 7th providing A1C, blood pressure and cholesterol screenings, Medicaid enrollment information, influenza immunizations and more.
"Through their participation, attendees will have opportunities to connect with healthcare professionals, receive valuable health information, and learn more about available services," said Coleman. "We sincerely appreciate Affinia Healthcare's partnership and dedication to serving our community."
The Speaker Panel Series will take place on November 4 and November 5 and is open to all attendees. Holmes is a guest panelist set to speak on Wednesday, November 4 at 11:20 a.m. about the importance of understanding healthcare coverage and what people can expect with the new Medicaid work requirements.
"When healthcare becomes unaffordable, everyone pays the price," said Holmes. "Working families are already struggling to keep up with rising costs for food, housing, and childcare. Now, rising Affordable Care Act premiums and deductibles, coupled with new Medicaid work requirements, could make it even harder for people to maintain health coverage and access the care they need."
