Long Beach, CA - The City of Long Beach Department of Economic Development & Opportunity (EDO) is now accepting applications for its Delivery-Only Cannabis Licenses exclusively available to verified Cannabis Equity Program applicants. This new license type reflects Long Beach's ongoing commitment to expanding equitable access to business ownership within the regulated cannabis marketplace.

A Delivery-Only Cannabis License enables eligible Cannabis Equity Program applicants to conduct commercial cannabis deliveries within Long Beach and other jurisdictions where delivery is permitted. For equity applicants, this license type offers a lower cost, entry-level business model with fewer upfront barriers than traditional storefront operations, making it a critical pathway for program participants seeking to establish or expand their presence in the regulated market.

The Cannabis Delivery-Only Dispensary Ordinance, adopted by the Long Beach City Council in December 2024, expanded allowable commercial cannabis activities and introduced clearer operational standards for delivery only businesses. As part of the Cannabis Equity Program, eligible applicants now have access to priority licensing, tailored technical assistance, and opportunities to apply for grant funding that can support business planning, compliance, equipment and early stage operational costs.

Applications for the Delivery-Only Cannabis License are available online and will be accepted and reviewed on an ongoing basis. Equity applicants can access application materials and resources on the City's website. Those who are interested in applying or have questions may email [email protected].

Media inquiries can be directed to Chelsey Magallon, Public Affairs Officer, Long Beach Department of Economic Development & Opportunity, at 562.570.3863 or [email protected].
