Media Pioneer, LGBTQIA+ Advocate, and Community Builder Recognized for Transformative Impact on Representation and Inclusion

SACRAMENTO, CA - Assemblymember Rick Chavez Zbur (D-Hollywood), Chair of the Assembly Democratic Caucus and member of the LGBTQ Legislative Caucus, today announced that B. Scott has been selected as the 2026 Pride Month Honoree for California's 51st Assembly District in recognition of their groundbreaking contributions to media, advocacy, and LGBTQIA+ visibility.

A trailblazing media entrepreneur, cultural commentator, and community leader, B. Scott is the founder of LBS (lovebscott.com), one of the world's largest LGBTQIA+ media brands. For more than two decades, B. Scott has helped shape conversations around culture, entertainment, and identity while creating space for LGBTQIA+ people-particularly queer people of color-to see themselves reflected, celebrated, and empowered.

As one of the earliest digital creators to build a major online platform, B. Scott has achieved a series of historic firsts throughout their career. They became the first trans non-binary person to helm a major media platform and have broken barriers across television, radio, publishing, and digital media. Their work has consistently expanded representation while opening doors for future generations of LGBTQIA+ creators and storytellers.

Today, B. Scott continues that mission through the Happy To Have You Initiative, a community-driven effort dedicated to fostering inclusion, belonging, and connection through wellness retreats, Pride celebrations, holiday gatherings, and other events that bring people together in affirming spaces.

"Throughout their career, B. Scott has shown what is possible when authenticity, courage, and vision come together," said Assemblymember Zbur. "As a pioneering voice in media and a tireless advocate for LGBTQIA+ visibility, they have helped transform representation both on-screen and behind the scenes. Through their work with LBS and the Happy To Have You Initiative, B. Scott has built community, elevated marginalized voices, and inspired countless people to embrace who they are. I am proud to recognize them as the 2026 Pride Month Honoree for the 51st Assembly District."

"I've always believed that when people are given the freedom to be themselves, entire communities become stronger," said B. Scott. "This recognition is deeply meaningful because it reflects not only my journey, but the journeys of so many LGBTQIA+ people who continue to show up authentically every day. I'm grateful to Assemblymember Zbur for this honor and remain committed to creating spaces where people feel seen, valued, celebrated, and happy to be exactly who they are."
