FedEx Expands Asia-U.S. Capacity Ahead of Peak Season to Support Semiconductors, AI Supply Chains, Premium E-Commerce, and Advanced Industrial Manufacturing

SINGAPORE, November 3, 2026 - Federal Express Corporation, one of the world's largest express transportation companies, has expanded its trans-Pacific network with an additional 567,000 kilograms (1.25 million pounds) of weekly capacity between Asia Pacific and the United States. The new five-times-weekly Boeing 777F service is expected to help businesses across advanced industrial manufacturing, semiconductor production, AI infrastructure, and premium e-commerce access additional capacity to support rising customer demand during one of the busiest trading periods of the year.

The new service operates through three routing variations connecting our Asia Pacific hub in Guangzhou and sub-regional hubs in Shanghai, China; Osaka, Japan; with our gateway in Clark, the Philippines, via Anchorage, Alaska, to the FedEx World Hub in Memphis, Tennessee. Businesses across Southeast Asia, including Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand, and Vietnam, as well as Hong Kong, can access additional capacity to the United States through connections via Clark and Shanghai. This expanded network provides customers flexibility, capacity, and connectivity to reach U.S. customers and respond quickly to changing customer demands.

The enhanced network also introduces a new five-times-weekly connection for Asia Pacific customers to Dallas-Fort Worth via Anchorage, providing an additional gateway to one of the United States' leading technology and data center markets. The connection strengthens access between Asia Pacific manufacturing hubs and businesses across the Dallas-Fort Worth region, supporting industries that rely on the movement of high-value, time-sensitive shipments such as semiconductors, servers, and other critical components supporting the expansion of artificial intelligence (AI) infrastructure.

The additional capacity comes as businesses navigate growing trans-Pacific trade volumes and increasingly interconnected supply chains. According to the International Air Transport Association (IATA) Air Cargo Market Analysis, the Asia-North America corridor recorded 9% year-on-year growth in July 2026, making it the fastest-growing major air cargo trade lane globally[1]. At the same time, Asia Pacific continues to play a central role in global technology supply chains, accounting for approximately 58% of global semiconductor industry revenue, according to a 2026 FedEx and Frost & Sullivan report[2].

As retailers, manufacturers, and technology companies prepare for year-end demand spikes, reliable air cargo capacity has become a competitive advantage. By expanding trans-Pacific capacity, FedEx is helping customers move critical inventory, respond faster to market demand, and unlock growth opportunities driven by advanced manufacturing, the AI-driven digital economy, and premium e-commerce.

"Global supply chains are becoming increasingly interconnected, particularly across advanced manufacturing, AI-related industries, and premium e-commerce," said Salil Chari, president, Asia Pacific, FedEx. "The addition of this capacity comes at a critical time as customers prepare for increased shipping volumes ahead of the year-end peak season. Businesses need reliable access to capacity, speed, and global connectivity to serve customers and keep supply chains moving. These additional flights strengthen links between Asia Pacific and key U.S. markets, including Dallas-Fort Worth, while supporting growth across semiconductors, technology, and AI-driven industries."

The service builds on a series of network enhancements introduced across Asia Pacific over the past year, including expanded flight connectivity from Bangkok, Penang, and Sydney to the Guangzhou hub. Together, these investments help customers access international markets more efficiently, strengthen supply chain resilience, and capitalize on emerging growth opportunities.
