Wheeling University Board Chair to be Inducted into WVU Order of Vandalia

WHEELING, W.Va., June 11 - Wheeling University Board Chair David Hendrickson will be one of four West Virginia University alumni to be inducted into the Order of Vandalia during a ceremony on Friday, June 19.

A two-time WVU graduate and former U.S. Army captain, Hendrickson is a founding partner of legal firm Hendrickson and Long, PLLC, and the president and founder of Hendrickson Mediation Services. He previously served as chair of the West Virginia Higher Education Policy Commission from 2008 to 2013, and spearheaded fundraising efforts for the Pride Practice Field and Facility, the permanent rehearsal space for the Mountaineer Marching Band.

Induction into the Order of Vandalia is given to Hendrickson for his loyalty and service to his alma mater. The Order of Vandalia, the highest recognition for service to WVU, dates back to 1960 when WVU President Elvis J. Stahr outlined his idea for a special honor to be bestowed on the University's most loyal servants.

Additionally, Wheeling University will recognize Hendrickson during Alumni Weekend Saturday, June 13, at which time he will receive the Rev. Clifford Lewis S.J. Award. This award is the highest honor presented by the Alumni Association. It honors extraordinary service, contribution, and dedication to Wheeling University in the spirit of Father Lewis, a true 'person for others.'

Hendrickson has been the chair of the Wheeling University Board of Trustees since February of 2024.
