ATLANTA - State Representative Arlene Beckles (D-Norcross) announces her participation in Cybersecurity Awareness Month this October, joining a nationwide effort led by the Cybersecurity and Infrastructure Security Agency (CISA) to promote cybersecurity awareness and encourage digital safety practices.
"As more of our daily lives-from banking and healthcare to education and small business-depend on technology, we must take steps to protect ourselves online," said Rep. Beckles. "Cybersecurity is not just about safeguarding data-it's about protecting families, communities and the essential services we all rely on."
Rep. Beckles emphasizes that Cybersecurity Awareness Month highlights small, everyday actions that can make a difference in defending against cyber threats and protecting our state's critical infrastructure, including power, water, healthcare and communications.
Rep. Beckles encourages residents, local businesses and community organizations to:
• Stay informed on cybersecurity best practices.
• Engage employees, customers and constituents in conversations about digital safety.
• Use October as a reminder to update passwords, secure devices and strengthen online protections.
"As your state representative, I am committed to advancing policies that strengthen our digital security and equipping our communities with resources to stay safe," added Rep. Beckles.
