AUGUSTA, GA (October 3, 2025) - Work continues along Broad Street with multiple crews active this week. New construction will begin the week of October 13 on Broad Street between 10th and 13th Streets.

  • Broad Street (13th Street to 15th Street):
Crews are demolishing asphalt and concrete between St. Sebastian Way and 13th Street. A pipe crew is also working in this area to install new underground utilities. One lane of traffic is expected to reopen the first week of November. In addition, sidewalk construction is ongoing between 15th Street and St. Sebastian Way.
  • *New Construction Beginning * - Broad Street (10th Street to 13th Street):
Starting the week of October 13, crews will begin construction on the inside lane medians, starting on 10th street and moving toward 13th street. This new phase of work will remove some on-street parking in the area. Parking in the recessed median will no longer be accessible. To accommodate this change:
    • Vehicles unable to use the outside parking lane will be redirected to the 9th Street parking deck.
    • Additional signage is being installed to guide motorists and provide clear directions.
    • Additional parking areas are being accessed for use.
    • A single 11-foot travel lane will remain open in both directions, with parking available along the shoulders.
  • James Brown Linear Park (9th Street to 10th Street):
Crews will begin utility work next week, with underground infrastructure improvements scheduled in this section.

The City appreciates the community's patience as these improvements continue. Please use caution when traveling through construction zones and watch for posted detours and parking signage.
