Museum Presents Open House and History Presentation

One of Sioux City's most iconic historical homes will be in the spotlight during a special event on Tuesday, June 9. The public is invited to enjoy two free activities: a Peirce Mansion Open House and a presentation on the history of the mansion.

From 5 to 7 p.m., visitors can explore all three floors of the Peirce Mansion, a striking example of Richardsonian Romanesque architecture. Built by prominent developer John Peirce, the Victorian-era mansion stands as a testament to his vision and influence in shaping the city's Northside. Peirce played a key role in grading the area's hills and establishing a cable car line that once ran the full length of Jackson Street to 40th Street.

Curious about the mansion's history beyond John Peirce? At 5:15 and 6:15 p.m., Haley Aguirre, Archival Records Clerk, will give a short presentation on the history of the mansion, including information and photos.

Both events are free and open to the public.
