On September 2, Ambassador Wu Guangrong led a delegation to the Kingfisher Oilfield for a field visit, where he met with and extended greetings to Chinese employees and held discussions with the heads of the companies involved in the project. Counsellor Wang Jianxun and other officials accompanied the visit.
Ambassador Wu conducted an on-site inspection of the Central Processing Facility and drilling rig construction at the oil field. He received briefings from CNOOC Uganda, COSL, COOEC, CNOOC Oilfield Technology & Services, CNPC Oilfield Construction, Daqing Oilfield Construction, and other companies on their operations and the progress of relevant projects. Ambassador Wu spoke highly of the enterprises' high standards of construction and management, as well as their pioneering spirit and dedication.
Ambassador Wu noted that the Kingfisher Oilfield Project stands as a landmark achievement of Chinese enterprises' growth and development in Uganda in the new era, and is a crown jewel of the enduring friendship and mutually beneficial cooperation between China and Uganda.He hoped that Chinese enterprises in Uganda will continue to uphold a strong sense of mission and responsibility, firmly adhere to the bottom line of safety, operate in strict accordance with the law and applicable regulations, and actively fulfill their corporate social responsibilities, so as to make greater contributions to deepening win-win cooperation and promoting Uganda's economic and social development, and jointly write a new chapter of China-Africa friendship and solidarity.
