Art Workshop at Pioneers Park Nature Center set for November 7

Published on November 03, 2026

The Parks and Recreation Department invites community members to explore Nebraska's prairie landscape through art during the Nature on the Prairie Motifs Workshop Saturday, November 7. The event will be from 10 a.m. to noon at the Lynn Johnson Nature Education Building at Pioneers Park Nature Center, 3201 South Coddington Ave.

Led by Sally Cox and Sara Taliaferro of the Guild of Natural Science Illustrators, Great Plains Chapter, the hands-on workshop will introduce participants to printing and rubbing techniques inspired by prairie plants and landscapes. Participants will use these techniques to create prairie-themed artwork, either as unique collages or as greeting cards and frameable works of art enhanced with quotes, painting or drawing.

The workshop is open to ages 15 and older. The cost is $20 per person, and advance registration is required. Space is limited. To register, visit lincoln.ne.gov/naturecenter.

The workshop is part of Pioneers Park Nature Center's annual Wild Fall Festival and Bison Day Celebration, which highlights the region's wildlife, prairie heritage and natural resources through educational programs and family-friendly activities.
