State Route 24 (SR-24) Caldecott Tunnel Overnight Closures For Bores 1, 2 and 3

Beginning Monday, Oct. 5, 2026, from 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.

Alameda and Contra Costa Counties - Caltrans has scheduled overnight closures of Bores 1, 2 and 3 of the Caldecott Tunnel on State Route 24 (SR-24) for flat-jack testing, full-depth roadway saw-cutting and routine maintenance. SR-24 closure schedule, 10 p.m. to 4:30 a.m.:

Bore No. 2 closure - eastbound SR-24

• Monday, Oct. 5, 2026
• Monday, Oct. 12, 2026

Bore No. 1 closure - eastbound SR-24

• Tuesday, Oct. 6, 2026
• Tuesday, Oct. 13, 2026

Bore No. 3 closure - westbound SR-24

• Wednesday, Oct. 7, 2026

During the work, at least one bore in each direction will remain open.

Traffic Control Measures:

Changeable message signs will be in place to assist motorists traveling in the area. Motorists are advised to expect delays and allow extra time. Please drive with caution through the construction zone. Slow for the Cone Zone.
