Trump Administration Invests in Town of Tamaha

U.S. Department of Agriculture Rural Development Oklahoma State Director Zachary Swartz announced today that the Trump Administration provided $36,900 to the Town of Tamaha. State Director Swartz was joined by Oklahoma State House Representative Tim Turner and Choctaw Nation Councilwoman Jennifer Turner.

The Administration's investment will provide the Town of Tamaha with funds to continue the restoration of their historic community center and make it comply with Americans with Disabilities Act accessibility requirements.

"The Trump Administration understands that the heart of the community often needs a space where rural residents can all participate in community events," said Swartz. "This investment and restoration of their community center wouldn't be possible without the support of the Choctaw Nation and State Representatives like Rep. Turner, who are incredible advocates for their communities and supporting the rural way of life in Oklahoma."

The funding is provided through USDA Rural Development's Community Facility Programs. This program provides affordable funding to develop essential community facilities in rural Oklahoma. Rural Development is a leader in helping rural America improve the quality of life and increase the economic opportunities for rural people.
