Cory Grinder Tour Marks One Night Live's Sixth Run Since Launching in 2025, Continuing Support for Emerging Artists and Independent Venues
October 6, 2026 - One Night Live , the touring initiative created by Live Music Society (LMS) to provide crucial support for emerging artists and small independent venues, will hit the road again this fall with Ohio country artist Cory Grinder. The 10-date run kicks off November 3 in Nashville and travels through the south before wrapping November 22 at Cleveland's Beachland Ballroom. Presented in partnership with Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future and D-TOUR , the tour marks the sixth One Night Live run since the initiative launched in spring 2025 and coincides with the November 3 release of Grinder's new album with his touring band, The Playboy Scouts, Scared to Death.
One Night Live has supported five tours in its first 15 months and expanded its network of partners to include D-Tour, Salt Lick Incubator, Midtopia and Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future. LMS also recently announced a new partnership with Folk Alliance International that will connect Official Showcase Artists with community-focused venues as they travel to the 2027 Folk Alliance International conference in Chicago. Since launching, the touring initiative has brought emerging artists to 57 independent venues across 49 cities, supporting 64 tour dates nationwide, with stops in major music markets including NYC, Los Angeles, Chicago and Nashville.
One Night Live was created in response to the ongoing economic challenges facing emerging artists and independent venues, bringing together touring support, artist-development partnerships and direct financial assistance to create more viable opportunities for artists to get on the road. Participating venues receive support to help offset marketing and production costs, while artists gain new touring opportunities and connections with local audiences. The Cory Grinder run continues One Night Live's growing network of collaborations with organizations including D-TOUR, Salt Lick Incubator, Midtopia, Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future and Folk Alliance International.
Each One Night Live date is designed as a collaborative event, encouraging venues to include local artists on the bill and providing support through a shared door split and a stipend from Live Music Society to help offset marketing and production costs. Participating venues are invited to share feedback following each event, helping the program continue to evolve and better serve artists, venues and fans.
About Cory Grinder :
A fixture of the Cleveland-Akron country scene, Cory Grinder got his start as a fiddle-playing sideman and busker before becoming a songwriter, frontman and bandleader. With Cory Grinder and the Playboy Scouts, he has spent the past decade touring the country and developing a sound rooted in honky tonk, Western swing and country, with an increasing dose of rock & roll inspired by the likes of Commander Cody and His Lost Planet Airmen.
The One Night Live tour coincides with the November 3 release of Grinder's new album, Scared to Death, a 10-song collection that brings his catalog to 50 released originals. Recorded to one-inch tape at The Electric Co. in Akron, OH, the album reflects Grinder's love of vinyl and albums as complete works, while capturing the country-rock direction of his live band.
"Independent venues are where we learned how to be a band, and they're still the places where we feel most at home," says Grinder. "Touring at this level can be tough, so having One Night Live behind us and supporting these rooms makes a real difference. We get to take the new record on the road, play for people in some great independent venues and hopefully make a few new friends along the way."

The Cory Grinder tour comes amid a busy year of grantmaking and expanded programming for Live Music Society. In June, LMS awarded$844,000 to 29 small performance venues through its Music in Actiongrant program, supporting projects that expand access to live music, nurture emerging artists and strengthen local music communities. This summer, the organization also opened applications for its 2026 Toolbox grant program, which offers venues up to $10,000 for practical improvements to their operations and live music experience. Since 2020, LMS has now distributed $5.9 million in grants to 250 unique venues nationwide.
About Live Music Society
Live Music Society (LMS) empowers small venues and listening rooms across the United States. Since 2020, the nonprofit has distributed $5.9 million in grants to 250 unique venues, supporting live music stages, emerging talents, established artists, staff, and patrons. With a focus on engaging communities, expanding audiences, increasing representation, and enhancing the live music experience, these grants underscore the foundation's commitment to strengthening the small, independent venue ecosystem nationwide. In 2025, LMS introduced One Night Live, a first-of-its-kind, continuously growing touring collaboration with organizations including D-TOUR, Salt Lick Incubator, Midtopia, and Cleveland Rocks: Past, Present & Future. The series creates a new touring model that lowers costs, shares resources, and strengthens the connection between emerging artists and the independent venues hit hardest by rising live-music expenses. livemusicsociety.org
