College of Health Sciences recognizes outstanding faculty and staff

The College of Health Sciences proudly announced the recipients of the 2025-2026 Faculty and Staff Awards at its spring 2026 meeting on Jan. 8, 2026. These awards were created to recognize and celebrate the extraordinary commitment and work of the college's employees.

"Our college is filled with remarkable people who go above and beyond every day to help our students achieve more than they ever thought possible," Joelle Powers, dean and professor of the College of Health Sciences said. "I am thrilled to celebrate the outstanding work of our faculty and staff with these new awards."

The winners

Camille Stover, '14, '18, program director of the Bachelor of Science in Respiratory Care program and clinical associate professor in the School of Respiratory Care Sciences, received the Exceptional Faculty Service Award.

Jenny Alderden, associate professor in the School of Nursing, received the Excellence in Research Award.

Amanda Bashista, '01, adjunct faculty for the School of Respiratory Care Sciences, received the 2025-2026 Adjunct Teaching Excellence Award.

Jennifer Eichmeyer, program director and associate teaching professor for the Master of Science in Genetic Counseling program in the School of Allied Health Sciences, received the Excellence in Faculty Leadership Award.

Jacoba Rock, clinical associate professor in the School of Social Work, received the Teacher of the Year Award.

Sarah Downey, management assistant in the School of Nursing, received the Staff Dedication to Excellence Award.

Kayla Henry, academic advisor in the School of Nursing, received the Academic Advising Outstanding Service Award.

Olga Salinas, assistant director for the College of Health Sciences' Student Services and Academic Advising Office, received the Excellence in Staff Leadership Award.

Candice Johnson, senior business operations manager for the School of Nursing, received the Extra Mile Staff Award.
