Governor's Office
BENGALURU, India - Continuing his trade mission to India, Governor Greg Gianforte today visited the Boeing India Engineering and Technology Center (BIETC) to strengthen Boeing's long-standing relationship with Montana and promote opportunities for further aerospace investment, manufacturing, and supply-chain growth in the Treasure State.
"Boeing's footprint in Montana is proof that world-class aerospace manufacturing can thrive under the Big Sky," Gov. Gianforte said. "As Boeing looks to the future, we want more of its parts made in Montana, more Montana businesses to support a reliable supply chain, and more Montanans building the aircraft of tomorrow."

Boeing's long-term investment in Montana centers on its Helena fabrication facility, where complex titanium and hard-metal components are manufactured for Boeing commercial aircraft. Since acquiring the operation in 2010, Boeing has expanded the facility multiple times, including to support production for the 787-10 and 777X, growing the site to more than 257,000 square feet.
Boeing also maintains a flight-testing presence in Glasgow, where the company has tested technologies aimed at improving aircraft efficiency and reducing noise. In 2026, Boeing returned to Glasgow for flight testing as part of its ecoDemonstrator program.
On the trade mission, the governor and Montana delegation toured Boeing's engineering and technology operations in Bengaluru, where BIETC supports Boeing's global aerospace programs through engineering, research, digital technologies, analytics, cybersecurity, and advanced technology development.
During the visit, Gov. Gianforte highlighted Montana's growing aerospace and advanced manufacturing industries and discussed opportunities for Montana companies and workers to play a larger role in Boeing's domestic and global supply chains.
In 2025, Montana exported approximately $6.9 million in commercial aircraft parts to India, an all-time high and making India Montana's sixth-largest export market for the product. The growth comes as Montana continues to expand its advanced manufacturing sector. Recently, Gov. Gianforte celebrated the $800 million investment from Janicki Industries in Great Falls to establish an advanced manufacturing campus to support aerospace, defense, and space customers. By the time of completion, the project is expected to create more than 2,000 jobs in Montana.
"It was a pleasure to host Governor Gianforte and the Montana trade delegation at the Boeing India Engineering & Technology Center in Bengaluru. Montana and India bring complementary strengths to Boeing's global aerospace ecosystem, and we see clear opportunities to deepen collaboration across our supply chain, technology, and engineering capabilities to drive innovation and resilience. Our long-standing partnership with Technovation reflects that same commitment to developing the next generation of innovators. It was inspiring to see students from around the world tackle real-world challenges at BIETC, and we were pleased to have Governor Gianforte witness that energy and ingenuity firsthand," said Salil Gupte, president, Boeing India and South Asia.
Boeing has also invested in developing Montana's future workforce. Earlier this year, the company announced a $100,000 grant to the Helena Education Foundation to support robotics programming and expand STEM education and career pathways for Helena students.
The visit was part of Gov. Gianforte's trade mission to India, where the Montana delegation is working to attract investment, expand markets for Montana businesses, and strengthen partnerships in aerospace and defense, advanced manufacturing, agriculture, biotechnology, photonics, quantum technology, and other emerging industries.
