BREAKING: Trump Nominates His Fixer Blanche as Attorney General Arrow

Donald Trump officially nominated acting Attorney General Todd Blanche, his former personal lawyer, to be Attorney General of the United States after Blanche ran an aggressive campaign to demonstrate his unconditional loyalty to Trump by doing his personal and political bidding, declaring to Trump in April, "I love you, sir."

In response, DNC Chair Ken Martin released the following statement:

"Being Attorney General is about being loyal to the law and loyal to the people of the United States, but Todd Blanche is only loyal to Donald Trump. Blanche has already abused the Justice Department by doing Trump's personal and political bidding, targeting the president's perceived enemies, helping his allies and covering for Trump and his associates in the Epstein files. By nominating Blanche, Trump is set on installing a personal fixer at the highest level of government who will protect Trump, his family, and his rich and powerful friends - at the expense of civil rights, the rule of law, and keeping our country safe."

Blanche's tenure at the Department of Justice (DOJ) has been marked by fealty to Trump, including his mishandling of the Epstein files. Under his leadership, DOJ officials allegedly assembled a summary of "more than a dozen tips" received about Trump and Jeffrey Epstein. Blanche has claimed that federal investigators are unable to investigate the tips received about Trump's alleged involvement with Epstein. Blanche also met with long-time Epstein accomplice Ghislaine Maxwell last year about her involvement with Epstein, and shortly after their meeting, Maxwell was moved to a cushier minimum-security prison.

Blanche has also helped reshape the DOJ to meet Trump's demands and go after Trump's perceived personal and political enemies, including investigations into New York Attorney General Letitia James, former Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell, Governor Tim Walz, and former CNN journalist Don Lemon.

As part of the deal with Trump to drop his $10 billion frivolous lawsuit against the Internal Revenue Service (IRS), Blanche also covertly signed a broadly worded addendum to the $1.8 billion "anti-weaponization" slush fund stating that the IRS is "forever barred and precluded" from pursuing "examinations" of past tax returns filed by Trump, his family, and his companies.
