Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs signed the MoU on Political Consultations with Azerbaijan

On 12 December 2025, H.E. Mr. Vijavat Isarabhakdi, Vice Minister for Foreign Affairs, and H.E. Mr. Elnur Mammadov, Deputy Foreign Minister of the Republic of Azerbaijan, co-signed the MoU on Political Consultations between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kingdom of Thailand and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The Vice Minister and the Deputy Foreign Minister of Azerbaijan also co-chaired the First Political Consultations between the Ministries of Foreign Affairs of Thailand and Azerbaijan. Both sides explored opportunities for exchanges of high-level visits and ways forward to advance cooperation within the bilateral framework, including in the areas of economic cooperation, trade and investment, particularly in agro-industry, food, halal products and services, energy, tourism promotion, logistics and connectivity. Cooperation within multilateral frameworks, such as the Organization of Islamic Cooperation (OIC); the Conference on Interaction and Confidence-Building Measures in Asia (CICA); the Non-Aligned Movement (NAM); and the ASEAN Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (AIPA), were also discussed.

Both sides reviewed pending agreements and ways forward to promote collaboration in various fields. They also exchanged views on regional and international developments of mutual interest.
