Amo, Shreve Celebrate Committee Passage of Bipartisan Bill to Help American Businesses Navigate Export Rules

WASHINGTON, DC - TODAY, Vice Ranking Member of the House Foreign Affairs Committee Gabe Amo (D-RI-01) and Congressman Jefferson Shreve (R-IN-06) celebrated the passage of their Strengthening Export Controls Compliance Act through the House Foreign Affairs Committee. The bipartisan bill would help American businesses navigate increasingly complex export control rules, strengthening U.S. competitiveness and national security.

"As our export controls grow more complex, businesses in Rhode Island and across the country are struggling to keep up," said Congressman Gabe Amo (D-RI-01). "Our bipartisan Strengthening Export Controls Compliance Act, which passed through the House Foreign Affairs Committee today, will help ensure American businesses have the guidance and support they need to compete globally, support American workers, and protect our national security."

"Export controls are becoming more complex as technology advances and the stakes grow higher," said Congressman Jefferson Shreve (R-IN-06). "This bill gives American businesses the clarity they need to understand the rules, plan ahead, and compete with confidence. Clear guidance strengthens our national security and supports a more competitive American economy."
