MANSFIELD, Pa. - The Mansfield Alumni Association Board of Directors announced three recipients of the Commonwealth University - Mansfield Alumni Legacy Scholarship for 2026.
The Alumni Legacy Scholarship preserves Mansfield's legacy by supporting academically gifted students with close family ties to Mansfield graduates. Recipients are awarded a $1,000 scholarship in the spring semester.
Paige Gumaer is a senior English major from Corning, N.Y. Her mother, Lucinda Glover Gumaer '01, inspired her to follow in her footsteps and pursue her passions at Mansfield.
Rachel Sherman is a junior from Macungie, Pa. majoring in early childhood education. Both parents, Pete Sherman '97 and Alison (Klein) Sherman '97, are instrumental in her pursuit to graduate from their alma mater.
Serena Gassner is a sophomore music majoring from Wellsboro, Pa. Her father, Joe Gassner '82, shares her love of creative expression.
"Congratulations to the Gumaer, Sherwood and Gassner families," said Dave Donlick, Director of Alumni and Employer Engagement at Mansfield. "Their dedication and connection to Mansfield exemplify the spirit of the Alumni Legacy Scholarship."
