QUOTES
"I am grateful to have this funding to put to work where it matters most. These investments empower cities and counties to take on real projects that improve everyday life-from safer roads to stronger public facilities and more reliable services families depend on. Our local leaders know their communities best, and this funding gives them the tools to tackle those needs head-on. That's how we keep Mississippi moving forward and deliver meaningful progress in every corner of our state." - Gov. Tate Reeves
"The MDA team works closely with local leaders to move projects forward and ensure these funds are used effectively and in the best interest of our communities. These investments in infrastructure and public facilities strengthen essential services, improve quality of life and help communities better prepare for future needs. We are always proud to support projects that make a lasting difference for Mississippians." - MDA Executive Director Bill Cork
"The CDBG program was created more than 50 years ago precisely to help communities overcome challenges to providing services and growth to their residents. That is just how Mississippi is deploying its CDBG public facilities funding, and I appreciate how well Governor Reeves, the MDA and local leaders have worked together to find the best uses for these federal resources." - U.S. Senator Cindy Hyde-Smith (R-MS), Chair of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee with jurisdiction over the Community Development Block Grant program
"It is imperative we provide local leaders the resources to complete needed projects in their communities. This $23 million investment in Mississippi infrastructure will benefit job creators, increase economic opportunities, and improve safety across our state. I will continue to advocate for federal funding for the Community Development Block Grant program, which invests in the safety and livelihood of our cities and counties." - U.S. Senator Roger Wicker (R-MS)
