Minister of Employment Matias Marttinen has been invited to join the Young Global Leaders network of the World Economic Forum (WEF). Young Global Leaders is a collaborative community of exceptional young leaders from politics, research, business and other sectors. Through its development programme, influential persons under the age of 40 receive tailored leadership training in cooperation with world-class universities.

The network fosters cross-border collaboration and collective action to tackle critical global challenges, such as economic inequality and climate change.

"I am very grateful for the invitation to join this distinguished network. I believe the network offers both concrete opportunities for professional development and ways to promote issues that are important for Finland at the same time," says Matias Marttinen.

The network has more than 1,400 members and alumni representing 120 different nationalities. The members include ministers, heads of state, government representatives, chief executives and business leaders, directors of civic organisations, artists, entrepreneurs, technology pioneers, teachers and journalists.

Past members of the network include Emmanuel Macron, President of France, Victoria, Crown Princess of Sweden, Jacinda Ardern, former Prime Minister of New Zealand, Mark Zuckerberg, founder of Facebook, and Larry Page and Sergei Brin, founders of Google.
