Arlington, Va. - In case you missed it, Aerospace Industries Association (AIA) President and CEO Eric Fanning joined NewsNation's The Hill with Blake Burman to discuss the White House's push to produce and buy more weapons amid the ongoing conflict in Iran.
During the interview, Fanning detailed how industry plans to meet the surging demand by increasing production at speed and emphasized that capacity is a capability in and of itself. He also highlighted that the defense industrial base has been shaped by years of underinvestment and a peacetime buying posture. Despite those constraints, Fanning confirmed that industry will meet this moment and is making significant investments into workforce and manufacturing development to deter adversaries.

AIA has long been an advocate for revitalizing the defense industrial base so industry can better respond to surges in demand. Last week, AIA released a statement urging the Administration and Congress to continue their efforts to stabilize demand signals, grow the defense budget, and increase acquisitions of defense systems.
